Emily is a Specialist Obstetrician & Gynaecologist with interests in normal and high-risk obstetrics, general gynaecology, reproductive medicine, IVF and infertility.
Growing up in regional Victoria, Emily completed her medical degree at Monash University, Melbourne. During her residency years, Emily gained broad medical experience but her passion for women’s health led her to commence Obstetrics & Gynaecology training at Melbourne’s Royal Women’s Hospital in 2010.
Emily has completed training posts at Southwest Healthcare, Warrnambool (provincial Victoria) and the Sunshine Hospital, Melbourne. Emily has broad obstetric and gynaecology expertise, including additional training in ultrasound and advanced laparoscopic surgery, and experience in quality assurance and process redesign in healthcare.
Emily is currently undertaking a Masters of Reproductive Medicine (University of NSW) with a view to providing comprehensive care to women and their families through all stages of pregnancy – from conception to birth and during the postnatal period. She currently also spends one day each week at TasIVF as an IVF fertility specialist.
From 2014 to 2016, Emily held senior registrar leadership roles, providing support and guidance to junior colleagues. Emily is an active member of the Royal Australia & New Zealand College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists, representing trainee doctors on multiple committees over the past 2 years, providing a voice and advocacy for the junior doctors who will be our future specialists.
Emily, her husband Chris and their two young girls, Eadie and Frances, made the move to Hobart in early 2017. Emily is excited to enter the Obstetric & Gynaecology specialist community in Hobart!
