Dr Inger Olesen is a consultant obstetric physician specialising in the care of women with complex medical conditions in pregnancy. 
 
She completed advanced training in obstetric medicine at Joan Kirner Women’s and Children’s Hospital (Melbourne) and is a SOMANZ-certified obstetric physician, reflecting subspecialty expertise in high-risk and medically complex pregnancies. Dr Olesen also holds Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) in Medical Oncology and has over 15 years’ experience as a consultant physician. 
 
Her clinical interests include hypertension in pregnancy, diabetes and metabolic disorders, thromboembolic disease, autoimmune conditions, and medically complex pregnancy. She has particular expertise in cancer in pregnancy and the management of women with pre-existing medical conditions. 
 
Dr Olesen also works in a part-time statewide Clinical Lead role within the Tasmanian Health Service, contributing to clinical leadership and service development. 
 
She has an active research background with multiple peer-reviewed publications and is an invited speaker on cancer in pregnancy at national meetings. Dr Olesen is committed to collaborative, multidisciplinary care and works closely with obstetricians and general practitioners to support optimal outcomes for mother and baby.
